CrossCountry worked with Mid Cheshire Community Rail Partnership to fund community notice boards at three Cheshire stations - Mouldsworth, Delamere and Mobberley.
Volunteers at the stations look after the content of the notice boards promoting local events and groups. They’re already getting positive feedback from passengers. The passerby in the picture at Mouldsworth stopped to look at the display which volunteer Neil Hogg had just put up about the Flying Scotsmans`1983 visit to the station. It prompted her to reminisce about her own memories of the station and the magnificent steam locomotives which once thundered along the line.
Mid Cheshire’s Community Rail Officer, Sarah Muir said “Our volunteers are made up to have these community notice boards at their stations. They allow them to showcase the events both past and present from their local area which helps to strengthen the links between the community and its railways station.”
