In June, the Newcastle College Rail & Civil Engineering Academy hosted its annual student awards.
Their first in-person event in more than two years, the 2022 awards celebrated the achievements of over 20 students and staff members, with awards including ‘Students of the Year’, ‘Personal Progression Award’ and the ‘Students’ Student Award’.
Ben Simkin, CrossCountry’s Regional Director North East & Scotland, along with Stakeholder Liaison Manager Alex Bray, joined in the celebrations by handing out the awards and compèring the occasion.
CrossCountry have proudly supported the Rail Academy for five years and many of the college’s alumni have gone on to have integral roles within the Britain’s railway network. This years’ awards were particularly special for celebrating the achievements of the students who worked through the challenges of learning during a pandemic.
