Britain’s largest long-distance operator, CrossCountry, has announced the appointment of Jo Davey as Industry Projects and Planning Director.
Jo joined CrossCountry in 2017 as Head of Track Access & Possession Strategy, and later Head of Planning, where she was responsible for timetable development and major possessions including Derby remodelling and blockades at Oxford and Bristol. She has also represented the business at industry level, working closely with the Great British Railways Transition Team, on the Whole Industry Strategic Plan, the long-term strategy for the railway, including decarbonisation.
Prior to CrossCountry, Jo has held numerous management positions across the industry at National Express, Great Western Railway and South Western.
Her appointment marks the business’ move to further strengthen its presence as a nationwide operator and ensure it not only meets but exceeds customers’ expectations.
With full responsibility for the business’ future timetable and corporate governance and risk, Jo will play a central role in developing our timetable and supporting how we evolve our business.
On her appointment, Jo said: “As a long-distance operator, CrossCountry is well placed to support the country’s economic recovery. I am looking forward to working with the wider Executive team so that we not only meet existing customers’ expectations, but also importantly adapt for the future.”

Long-distance train operator CrossCountry has announced adjustments to its timetable from 14 December, as part of the rail industry’s twice-yearly timetable review.

- Photorealism, painterly illustration and graphics combine to depict the textile carts that powered Leeds’ rise to a northern powerhouse, to CrossCountry trains linking the city’s people and culture to the rest of UK today
- CrossCountry will operate a reduced timetable over the Bank Holiday weekend – with no services on Saturday 23 August - due to industrial action by the National Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers (RMT)
- Services on Sunday 24 August are also likely to be subject to cancellations across all CrossCountry routes
- Passengers are advised not to travel on Saturday 23 August and to travel on either side of the Bank Holiday weekend, or claim a full refund
