Hitting your mid-twenties doesn’t have to mean saying goodbye to discounts, as the 26-30 Railcard offers great train travel savings! Offering the same savings as the 16-25 Railcard, you can keep enjoying discounted fares. This railcard is ideal for young professionals, being available to passengers aged 26 to 30 and suitable for use during Peak times to save 1/3 on the cost of most train fares.
You can make fantastic savings on a range of ticket types, including Off-Peak and Super Off-Peak and Advance Tickets. You can even apply your discount to First Class Advance fares, all for just £35 a year.
Benefits of a 26-30 Railcard
- Travel any time of day: You can apply your discount at any time of day, on any type of day. However, you’ll need to spend a minimum of £12 if you’re travelling at Peak times (between 04.30 and 09.59 Monday to Friday, from September to June).
- Save even more off-peak: There is no minimum fare when you travel off-peak, including on weekends and public holidays.

How to Get a 26-30 Railcard
The 26-30 Railcard is only available digitally, meaning they can’t be ordered from a train station or over the phone.

Receive a download code via email that can be used to load your Railcard onto the app. You can start using it straight away!

26-30 Railcards for Mature Students
If you're a mature student aged 26-30, you can choose between the 26-30 Railcard or the 16-25 option. Keep in mind that a 3-year option is only available with the 16-25 Railcard, allowing you to save for a longer period if you opt for this alternative.
Just submit a completed application form signed by your place of study, along with your university or college photo ID. If you're over 30, the 16-25 Railcard is the only option available for mature students.
How to Use a 26-30 Railcard
- You can apply your Railcard savings when buying tickets online or through the CrossCountry app. Just select the correct option to see discounted fares!
- For in-person purchases, apply the discount using a self-service machine or by requesting it at a staffed ticket counter.
- Be sure to carry your digital Railcard while travelling; without it, you may be required to pay the full fare or receive a Penalty Fare. Please ensure your device has enough battery before travelling.
