CrossCountry is pleased to support the upgrading of Derwent Valley CRP’s website through a match-funding contribution from our CrossCountry Community Engagement Fund. The existing website, whilst functional, was looking rather ‘tired’ and dated so the CRP is giving it a facelift with a software upgrade during Spring 2021, so that it can be used in new and better ways to attract people back to rail as coronavirus restrictions on travel are eased. Work is not yet completed, but Al Morley, Rail Officer at Derwent Valley CRP, has shared the images below with us as a taster for the new look website.

CrossCountry is working with Derwent Valley CRP to see how we can help better promote the scenic line from Derby to Matlock to tourists and day visitors, including the convenient interchanges with two Heritage Railways which can be directly accessed by rail; Ecclesbourne Valley Railway at Duffield and Peak Rail at Matlock. The Derwent Valley Line will be even more attractive to leisure travellers looking for a full day out this Summer thanks to train operator EMR running an improved hourly interval service all day, including during the evening, on Mondays to Saturdays from 17 May. CrossCountry services from the South West, South, Birmingham and from Scotland & the North East connect at Derby with Derwent Valley trains.
