On Saturday 5 April, CrossCountry joined local stakeholders, colleagues and members of the community at Ashurch to unveil 55-foot mural at the station.
Designed and produced by local artist, Simon Chadwick, the mural celebrates the local area and its rich history and was delivered as part of local celebrations to mark the 200th anniversary of rail in Britain. The mural was sponsored by CrossCountry’s Community Investment Fund and delivered through the New Forest Community Rail Partnership.
In addition to the mural, the day included a celebration with many local organisations, including Scouts, Guides and School Children from Colbury and Foxhills schools. The station car park was filled with tabletop sales and promotions, a petting zoo with live sheep and chickens, and the town band kept al the 300 guests in party mood for the morning.
